I'll find it.

Words have very different meanings. If one is not an expert, and well versed in all sorts of things you use words wrong or out of context. Even actual definitions change from Wikipedia, to FBI, to actual law, to law journals, to medical journals etc. Throw in the problem with the Oxford comma, and digital conversations on forums and texting is a crap shoot at best. Throw in metaphors, hyperbole and bias you can see how things fall apart quickly. This is why the Deck and the Observer is Observations, opinions, facts and news.

So when people say RICO, one should understand...
"RICO law refers to the prosecution and defense of individuals who engage in organized crime. In 1970, Congress passed the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act in an effort to combat Mafia groups.

Jim--sounds like Ken Warren stuff--give them enough rope....

"Narcissistic injury occurs when a narcissist feels that their hidden, 'true self' has been revealed."

From the article I quoted above:

"Flying Monkeys!

For those who don’t know this term, “flying monkeys” are people that a narcissist uses to do their bidding. Sometimes, a narcissist will not attack you publicly in any way–which makes them look good–but they are privately telling carefully chosen people how evil and awful you are. They select these people the same way they chose you. They are experts at reading people and realizing who will make an easy target and a puppet. They also know who won’t, so they avoid the people they can’t easily use. Narcissists usually choose other, lesser, narcissists who will enjoy attacking you, or they choose very empathetic people who believe their stories and honestly believe they are supporting an innocent person. These flying monkeys then proceed to stalk you and report back to the narcissist–again, either to be mean or because they think they are helping the wronged party. Or, the worst flying monkeys will spread the lies the narcissist tells them privately by taking them public. The lies don’t come from the narcissist’s mouth, so they can claim they are “taking the high road,” but the words the flying monkeys spread are *exactly* what they heard from the narc. They do the narcissist’s evil, but make it seem like the narcissist isn’t really involved. They have no idea they are being used."

Keep an eye out for "flying monkeys"

Brian

Wish you could have met him.

He could read people, like people read books. The notes he left behind are amazing, eye opening, and a very serious looks at the "characters in the play of life."

Ken would often talk in code. Hired by hardcore conservatives, he blended in by day, but was a beat poet turned punk rocker free thinker and free spirit by night.

As he could not talk honestly, he constructed various prisms to look through, and polite ways to talk in public.

I cannot wait to finish going through his stuff, and finish the book.

Enough rope to hang themselves, might have come from Davis. It was one of the founding principles.

"The mosh pit of word jazz"

They came and ran him out of town too. He was a thinker, kind of dangerous in this town. You like conversation, civic discourse, they will come for you again, and again, and again.

Well it has come to my attention that many, look at this project as a "news" project.

While a chunk of it is news, media, journalism, and investigation.

A lot of it, is the personal Observation of anyone taking part.

Lakewood is a wonderful city, a unique city, where residents are its strongest points of interest. This project was constructed to understand the community and know more about itself than any city ever has. That means understanding the players, and walking occasionally in another person shoes to better understand their mindset or what they say. While small minded people like to concentrate on "Amplfying the good deeds..." the fact is, we need to understand not just what is going on but the players, and their connections.

If you paid attention during the WestEnd, Phase III, and politics since Ed FitzGerald, you have a much better understanding about what is going on now and the players.

Life is fascinating and fun to figure out, just relax and observe what is going on around us.

Let it wash over you.

peace.

Today's definition is: Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) aka "Classic Projection Disorder"

Quotes from the site below:

1. "Borderline Personality Disorder is a diagnosis-- not an identity. Projection is a central defense mechanism utilized by the borderline false self - a defense mechanism that keeps those with Borderline Personality Disorder emotionally isolated from others. Borderlines project onto others because they do not have a known self or a sense of any known self that can act as a container for their own emotions."

For example, a borderline might say "I do not have a purpose."

2. "In projection, one's own unacceptable feelings are attributed to someone else. A boy who dislikes his father, for instance, may feel anxious about disliking someone he depends on. So he may project his feelings onto his father, concluding that 'he hates me.' "

"When they [the Borderline] look at you and say you did this or that and it's all your fault when in fact it has all to do with what the borderline has done, said or felt a borderline does not see this. They will fight you every step of the way, convinced that they are right and you are wrong."

They might say something like "it is hard to allow others the last word."

3. "Projection is a defense mechanism used often by borderlines to shift personal responsibility."

They might say something like "you are forcing me to [fill in the blank]"

4. "If you can identify what you feel and why and own it, feel it and hold it...then soothe yourself, and take care of yourself you will be in a position to catch your own projections. Anything less than that and you will continue to give away your personal power to others. This increases an already intolerable level of vulnerability for the borderline."

The Borderline bounces all over the place emotionally. So the solution is for the Borderline is to stay in one place emotionally for a long enough time actually feel his or her own feelings and take ownership of their own stuff.

I still like your original "thought oncology" definition the best.

Mr. Mager is up there to by introducing "bogosity" to us as well.
