City crews are working on a water main break at St. Charles and Franklin.
They had isolated the break, and figure it could affect 4 streets in all directions.
The local resident that saw the water while having a front yard picnic lunch, points to the guys that fixed it.
Water coming out of the streets always freaks me out!
This is what you see on the surface, below there is a massive hole being dug out by the water.
Good work City Crews!

I drove thru this on Franklin not knowing how deep the water was... I was on the north side...needless to say the inside of the jeep is now muddy as it was a muddy rain shower. the crews were cheering me on. i loved it.

From looking at the picture, it appears that the fake-brick sidewalk has sunken a couple inches. Is that what I'm seeing?

You are seeing the faux brick, sink down, and the asphalt pick up at the seam.
Water is a powerful force, it;s getting out, sink hole, out of the edges, at the seams, it's getting out.

OMG, it's turned into a curb across the street! EXACTLY where you don't want it! Noice!

I think the stamped cement crosswalks are meant to be in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. They are texturally and color wise meant to be an extension along with the curb aprons.
