Lakewood Hospital Visit Today

This morning I woke up and went to Lakewood Hospital for some blood work, and was ready for the nightmare laid out here.

I parked on Belle Ave. one spot from handicapped access only, deposited a quarter and went up the ramp.

At the top of the ramp I found only one of the new $6 million front doors working, looking shabby.

I walked into the lobby, bright, clean, no metal detectors and walked up to the front desk.

There I was met by a very pleasant guard(?) and I asked about where the laboratory is.

With a smile he said, take elevator to the second floor, turn right.

I got in the elevators, went to the second floor, turned right past the food machines, and went into the laboratory.

Where I was met by a pleasant nurse, who took my information, sat me down in a clean waiting room, soon blood work was done, and I went out through the door, back to Belle Ave. Where I saw this...

Surrounded by Lakewood Fire Department vehicles, which signals an end to one of the buildings. Besides keeping us safe, Lakewood Fire Department loves to practice keeping us safe. They do this with other groups in the West Shore Community, practicing fire control, and working together. It is the last thing that happens before a building is torn down.

There is still some time as the asbestos has not been removed, but when that is gone, it will signal the start of?

Thanks for posting this Jim. I just can't believe they would tear this down before the people vote?! It is absolutely wrong that they move forward as they do, KNOWING the people will have their voice in November. I really hope there is legal intervention before this happens.
