CCF just installed metal detectors at the CCF Lakewood "ER".

Why?

What is going on there?

Who are they worried about?

Who are they worried about

Good question.
I know that NNU (the national nurses' union) is fighting for increased security to protect staff in medical facilities.

However, CCF has a long history of not giving a damn what nurses think....so I don't think that explains these metal detectors.

Does/will Fairview and Avon have metal detectors?

Last time I was at either, the answer was NO.

What about CCF Main?

Now how does that mesh with the TV and Pandora commercials which state that I can just stroll in there with any old ache and pain and get seen by a Doc and be on my way in minutes?

I'm thinking there's a big dis
connect between reality and some fantasy world conjured up by the CCF spinmasters.

Was looking for information on removing the water pump on my truck I Googled You Tube and there was a commercial stating how good the ER was, even with testimony from so called patients, how permeating is CCF control of the message?

Why are metal detectors a sense of high alarm in this day and age? I figured it would be considered standard practice. I'm actually surprised they have not been there since the scare of terrorist threats have consumed society and public places.

I would think people would be thankful of the added security. I would see airport body scanners at a hospital as over the top, though. But probably not too far off in the future.

I'm gonna stir up the nest-- are CCF "cops" real cops or are they local hired thugs?

Why a "threat?" Why that word?

I would imagine their validity would be based on training. Example : Tenable Security at a concert is not the same as an off duty officer picking up some overtime cash.

I spoke to a friend that is a nurse, she agrees with Bridget's analysis.

The detectors are a wonderful symbol of how Toby and his Acolytes view Lakewood....they see us as a dangerous, crime ridden town that requires extra protection.
Summers and his Minions were more than happy to comply with CCF and its grim view of our community.

They must be "nice" people there.

Will the metal detectors also be able to detect rapists and sex offenders? What about doctors that will later plead guilty to sexual battery and abuse of a patient after they are accused of molesting said patient under anesthesia?

The above two links explain that a Cleveland Clinic doctor was accused of raping a patient under anesthesia at Lakewood Hospital a few years back. According to these articles and court records, he pleaded guilty to sexual battery and was sentenced to 45 days in jail, but only served sixteen. One of the articles also states that he will flee to Egypt, where he could continue practicing medicine.

Also, back in October 2014, it should be noted that according to court records, a person was charged with gross sexual imposition following an incident at Lakewood Hospital. Since someone appeared to do a poor attempt at a cover-up, the only reason I knew the incident took place at Lakewood Hospital was from the court documents, which says that a condition of the person's probation was to stay away from Lakewood Hospital. If the person was charged with gross sexual imposition, I'm pretty sure that there must have been some kind of evidence that a crime of sexual nature was committed. Lakewood's prosecutor and judge evidently allowed the suspect to plead guilty to misdemeanor assault instead of the gross sexual imposition charge, a felony four. According to court records, the suspect has a record going back to 1995. Some of his prior charges were violent crimes, like robbery. How misdemeanor assault and a sex crime can be compared, I don't know.
Finally, it appears that there was a rape at Lakewood Hospital sometime between October 15th and November 15th of 2015. The only way I found this was through the City of Cleveland GIS crime map, which also lists all crimes under jurisdiction of CCF Police, regardless of what city they are in. Did anyone ever hear about this in the news? Is it another cover-up by Summers? Apparently, Summers is able to cover-up everything in Lakewood. He takes after the domestic cat, he covers up his crap!

According to the Cleveland crime map, there have also been rapes happening on a regular basis at Fairview Hospital for roughly a few years now. As far as I know, this person has not been caught.

Can the metal detectors detect rapists and sex offenders? Is this really the establishment Summers & Co. are entrusting to ensure our safety well-being?
