Close to midnight on June 4th, a male called police to report that he had given a male a ride in his car and that the male had robbed him at gunpoint in the vehicle at 14200 Detroit. Police were able to catch up to the suspect and retrieve the weapon, which was listed stolen out of Dayton, according to public records. According to court records, the suspect has been charged with robbery and carrying concealed weapons. The suspect's name is Deshawn William Malcolm. He has previously been charged in other cities for assault, theft, and criminal tools.

The police did a good job on this one.

On the other hand, what brought this man to Lakewood?

Mike,
Don't you wonder what compelled him to come to Lakewood to rob when he lives in Brooklyn?

Theft, Bassett Road: A job interview for a 20-year-old Cleveland man ended badly May 16 when he concluded the interview by grabbing a computer tablet from the company and dashing out the door. Identifying a suspect proved fairly easy for police because the man left behind a completed job application and a copy of his driver's license.--Bruce Geiselman, Cleveland Plain Dealer.
