SALUTE!!

This weekend is obviously Memorial Day weekend. To many it's time to cook out, take some time off during the three day week-end, go fishing, boating, so many different things. Today on TV, there will be "War" movies depicting heroism and such. For me, it's a double edged sword. I thank God I came home generally in good shape. Then what we see on TV sparks the imagery of the reality, that millions "gave their best, and millions gave their all". We need to honor that as U.S. citizens.
Wars are a terrible thing, but lack of freedoms is horrible. As everyone contemplates the upcoming political "happenings", it would be good to remember those family members, friends, comrades-in-arms, that didn't "come back"regardless if it was WWI, WWII, Korea, 'Nam, "the Sandbox" etc. The gravestones with American flags keep increasing. Let us salute those who are "gone", but not forgotten, and to the survivors, help someone in need. If you want to be blessed, try being a blessing to someone. Both of you will benefit beyond comprehension.

Attention! Hand Salute!

Mark, thank you for your service. In my eyes, all who serve and have served are all heroes. It is because of all of you that we are able to exercise our freedom of speech, especially places like the Deck.

Thanks Mark, we owe much to all who have served their country, I was in a mechanic and a machine gunner in a mechanized infantry unit that shipped over to Nam, but I did not have to go, got discharged in ' 66 ' count my blessings all the time, if a bullet did not kill you Agent Orange will. Thanks for serving.
