Lakewood on Historic Google Street View Imagery

Go to Google Maps and drag the yellow man to a street in Lakewood. Then, go to the top left corner and select 2007 and 2009.
I can't believe how much better the city looked in 2007 and even 2009. Rarely is an un-mowed lawn seen and rarely is garbage seen lying all over the place. Now, we have mattresses, toilets, couches, etc. sitting out for a week and grass three feet long. With all of this long grass and city-owned tree branches blocking sidewalks, I feel like I am in the jungle.
Not to criticize, as I know there are good people at City Hall, it makes me wonder why all of these new hires are needed and why they are being paid a pretty good rate if things are deteriorating instead of getting better.
When I walked Lakewood last summer, I could not believe the decline. Rotted porch floors that you could almost fall through, broken out windows with insects flying in, shrubbery blocking windows (fire code), apartments that haven't been inspected in years, peeling paint, indoor chairs, recliners, couches, junk on porches, gas grills on covered balconies (illegal), and graffiti.
I have noticed a decline on my street very recently. Numerous houses are now being rented out and the owners are fleeing Lakewood. For example, one house on my street is owned by some guy that lives in California. He bought it from HUD for dirt cheap. More information on out-of-state and out-of-country landlords coming soon.
I am sure I will be blasted for being negative. Once again however, I am not the one that should be blasted. It should be Summers and Company.
Lord Lakewood and Company need to attend to the Kingdom!
