Dan,

Thanks for all you and the rest of the Kauffman Park Friends do for the park. I know that the young ones will very much enjoy a remodeled playground.

Dan - Any chance the basketball hoops go back up? (Obviously not in the playground!)

Why don't those wanting basketball back in Lakewood start up a group. You could call it Save Lakewood Basketball. SLB for short.

Without a strong basketball advocacy group to take the lead, we've mostly given up on basketball. There's no good place in the park for it besides the court enclosure, and that has been ruled out by City Hall. It's become a no-win topic for us.
Others are now leading the group - I'm just helping with communications. Come to the event and our meetings.

It's a shame the hoops are not in the future plans for Kauffman Park. But since LOBC's mission has been neutered by city hall, you're right, Dan. It's amazing how far things disintegrated in just two years.

I think what I miss about Lakewood the most are the evenings I spent on the LOBC courts at Kauffman with those great kids and young adults.

Thanks for your service to the park, Dan. (I also miss seeing your beautiful dogs there.)
