Good News! BIG FIGHT IN METRO PARK

Well, above Metro Park.
While spending time on Sharkey's Hill this weekend,

I noticed two large birds fighting above me. Well I tried to get them, but wrong lens, wrong place, wrong time of day.

Sure enough, a male Bald Eagle fighting with a nearly two year-old immature male. No doubt fighting over fishing, or living space.
With over 7 bald eagles born into the Emerald Canyon in the past 6 years, it only makes sense that they need more nesting areas.
I had approached Mayor Summers about 5 years ago about building a starter nest for them near, what is becoming the fishing bank. He had little interest which in the long run was good as I found out it is a federal crime to build bald eagle stater nests. No matter, that area is rich for another nest. One male is back sitting in the area a couple times a week.
Bald Eagles fighting is good news.
peace
