Eagle Baseball at Historic League Park

St. Edward defeated Midview 5-1 at League Park the original home of the Cleveland Indians.
Abandoned in the 1940s, the remains of the stadium have been built into a high school baseball field and baseball museum.
The diamond is in the same location where the American and Negro League greats once played.

Here is main gate to the renovated field, located at East 66th and Lexington.
Junior left-hander Quin Lavelle pitched a complete game for the Eagles, giving up one run on 83 pitches.
This shot shows the interesting dimensions of the outfield, which we dictated by city streets when the stadium was constructed.
It is 425 feet to center, far longer than most Major League parks. However, right field is only 290 feet...which is why Babe Ruth LOVED playing in this park.
