Value-priced cell phone carriers?

It's time again to reevaluate our cell phone carrier. We've been mostly satisfied with T-Mobile for 15 years, but the bill keeps getting bigger. Meanwhile, I'm reading about some of the value-priced carriers like Consumer Cellular, Ting, Republic, MetroPCS, etc., and understand that they are much improved and much lower priced. In particular, Consumer Cellular looks promising. But from past experience, I know that some carriers are better than others in different places. Does anyone in Lakewood have experience with these and/or recommendations? We have two T-Mobile/Samsung Galaxy S5's that we've now paid for and we hope have another year or two of service in them.
