Just wondering if anyone knows why Lakewood City Schools have not joined 50 other districts in suing the State of Ohio to recoup taxpayer money diverted to funding charters. Here's a related link

What additional expenses does LCSD incur toward educating Lakewood children who attend public charter schools or private schools?
Also, I don't see any mention of a lawsuit in the link posted above. Just "invoicing"....

Sandra, I did not look into facts, but I thought of something that could be a part of the problem. My son attended a charter school for 1/2 a year. Although there are some in the country that perform quite well, this one did not. I believe that when a child attends a charter school the funds follow that student. Charter schools are considered to be public schools. I know that when kids use the Autism Scholarship Program, the money is taken from the public school the child was attending and is given to the school the child would be attending. The amount used to be 20,000 dollars and any costs above that had to be paid by the parent. I hoped I helped a little.
