LHS Cheerleaders to Make "Polar Plunge"

The LHS Cheerleaders will jump into Lake Erie on Saturday, February 27 as part of the 20th Annual "Polar Plunge". The event, a fundraiser for Special Olympics Ohio, will be held at Breakwater Beach in Geneva-on-the-Lake.
Head Coach Amy Staib got the idea after seeing Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon take the plunge in Chicago. She was also motivated by the addition of the "Sparkle Squad" at LHS this year. "When we started working with the sparkle effect this year I thought it would be fun to give back to another organization that helps students with disabilities" says Staib.
Ten cheerleaders are participating, and they have been busy raising money toward their $500 goal.
