St. Ed Senior Night Review

St. Edward (14-6) used 13 three pointers to beat Benedictine (18-3) 99-77 on an emotional Senior Night at St. Ed. Junior Jack Sullivan had five of those three pointers as part of his 17 point effort. But the night was about the Eagles' six seniors, five of which started the game.
Senior forward Matt Gonzalez, who doubles as a football wide receiver in the fall, had 13 points. Senior Sean Flannery, son of head coach Eric Flannery, had 15 points, 14 assists and eight rebounds. The most emotional moment of the night was when he exited the game in the fourth quarter, and was hugged by his dad coming off the court.
St. Edward will play its final regular season game Friday at St. Ignatius, then begin OHSAA tournament play next week.

Coach Eric Flannery hugging his son Sean as he leaves the game in the fourth quarter.
Eagle senior Matt Gonzalez says "Get that BLEEP out of here!" after swatting away a shot at the basket.
Two generations of St. Ed fans enjoying the game, as Dad imparts some wisdom.
We met this fascinating St. Ed faculty member in the crowd. I'll have a story about this Ghanian native in a future print edition of the paper.

Eagle cheerleaders entertaining during a break. I can't even imagine being able to do flip like that.

Senior Carl Jones takes it to the hoop.
