Hotline news story - 216-407-2634!

Around 3:15am Saturday morning, a couple on Arthur Ave. was woken up by their dogs barking and a 22 year old male screaming for help. When the owner came to the door half asleep, there was a man pounding on the door looking in the window covered in blood. The male claimed he had been beaten up at a restaurant in Westlake and dumped by his friends on the couple's front lawn. During the exchange another male appeared from a dark car down the street claiming he was a friend but the male claimed he did not know him. That make left and drove away.

By being voluntarily intoxicated and creating a risk of harm to himself and others. To wit; having a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage about his person, blood shot eyes, slurred speech and being unsteady on his feet. Further, by breaking a glass panel window with his forehead at Arthur, and later screaming profanities at Lakewood hospital staff.

On. 1-30-16, at 0337 hours, I was detailed to Arthur, on an anonymous report of a male sitting on the front porch of the residence. Ptl. Piechowiak, Ptl. Mullen and Ptl. Zbydnowski arrived prior to me because I was on a traffic stop. A LFD Squad #1 was requested and responded before I did.

Upon arrival, the male, the bloody male told Ptl. Piechowiak that he was assaulted in Westlake. Shortly after, he was transported to Lakewood Hospital.

I spoke with A friend of the bloody male who lived on Arthur. He was intoxicated and had a slurred speech and stated that the bloody male was not assaulted in Westlake. He also stated that he and the bloody make were best friends and stated that they also worked together. an that last night after work, he, the bloody male and their friend went out to have few drinks. The Bloody Male "had too much to drink" and he told the guy not bloody yet that he can sleep in his place and he agreed. When they arrived at the residence, The soon to be bloodied guy started arguing and broke a glass panel window in the kitchen door. Neither talked about the cause of the argument and police we shown the damage.

The kitchen was located on the east side of the residence and the door lead to the back yard of the residence. The whole glass panel was broken and there was glass all over the floor. He mentioned his friend broke the window with his forehead because he was too intoxicated and then ran outside. He did not desire prosecution in this matter and he was advised that a report will be completed. I took photographs of the damage.

Squad #1 transported the bloody guy to the hospital. At the hospital police could see that he was very intoxicated, had glassy eyes, and slurred speech. He was also screaming profanities at Dr. Mehta, when he was being treated. He had a cut above his eye. The cut was about an inch in diameter. He kept yelling "I want my mommy." after stating that he did not remember how he sustained his head injury because he was too intoxicated. He was issued a citation for DCI.

As much as I would love to leave this.

Westlake was merely part of the drunk excuse, it was not based in reality.

Carry on.
