INDICTMENT OF SUSPECT IN CHURCH COPPER DOWNSPOUT THEFTS

During the months of September and October 2015 the Lakewood Police Department received a number of reports of copper downspouts being taken from Church buildings on Madison Ave.

On December 23, 2015 Gary T. Jones Jr, 22 yrs old of Cleveland was indicted by a Cuyahoga County Grand Jury on 2 counts each of Breaking & Entering and Aggravated Theft in connection with these cases.

Instrumental in solving these crimes was information from the Cleveland Hts Police Department and the Ohio Department of Public Safety’s Communication & Information Management System (CIMS), which collects information from scrape metal dealers of purchases they make and the cooperation of the local scrape dealers.

Thanks for posting this, Jim. Glad to see this guy was caught. It looks like he also has charges pending against him for unlawful sexual conduct w/a minor and corrupting someone with drugs.
