Around 9:50 P.M. Christmas evening, a call went out for a car that had driven off the road on Arthur and hit the back of a house in the 15500 block of Hilliard. Eyewitnesses report that the police were seen removing numerous empty beer bottles from the vehicle. The car's airbags were deployed as a result of the collision. At least one of the vehicle's occupants was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. There was much concern about this collision, as the car struck the house very close to a natural gas line.

Hats off to the police and firemen. With over seventy liquor establishments within Lakewood's city limits, it cannot always be easy to keep everyone in check.

UPDATE:

Terrence T. Keith of Parkwood Rd. here in Lakewood, has been charged with OVI, failure to control, and failure to stop after an accident in connection with this crash. According to court documents, he has also been charged with possessing drug paraphernalia. He has pled not guilty and had a hearing scheduled for 9:00 A.M. today in Lakewood Court.
