Anne E. DeChant is a Nashville recording artist originally from Cleveland, where she was a five-time Singer-Songwriter of the Year. Anne E. began her career, which now spans more than 20 years, as the dynamic lead singer for the folk-rock band, Odd Girl Out. Since going solo in 1997, DeChant has released eight critically acclaimed studio albums, including her most recent, "The Sun Coming In," produced by Nashville¹s Mike Severs, who has also worked with such acts as Gretchen Peters, Dolly Parton, and Don McLean.

Known for the power of her live performances, as well as the craft and the empathy of her lyrics, DeChant has shared the stage with a long list of well-known performers, in-cluding Sheryl Crow, Stevie Nicks, Joan Armatrading, Nora Jones, and the Indigo Girls. She has played a host of venues ranging from numerous college campuses to Nashvil-le¹s Bluebird Café to the Clinton White House.

Nashville Scene says DeChant's songs, "enriched by her political con-sciousness, nail blue-collar grit the way few writers do." And the Cleveland Plain-Dealer adds, "Now there is a woman with fire in her belly."

Anne E.'s signature song, "Girls and Airplanes," about women breaking down barriers, anchored the soundtrack of the 2013 Hollywood film, "The Hot Flashes," starring Brooke Shields and Wanda Sykes, and was featured in the documentary film, "The Vetters, All We Needed." Now, with "The Sun Coming In," she emerges as one of Nashville¹s pre-mier story-tellers, with portraits of small-town, working class America that are alternately edgy and tender sometimes both in the same song and always real.

"DeChant is our wake-up call to all of the possibilities found in songs and stories when they¹re told with integrity, honesty, and heart," concludes No Depression magazine. "She is what the future of Americana music needs to be in order to endure a passionate prophetess who has come in from the wild, rough edges intact, and ready to rock."

Great chance to see the last working movie theater in Lakewood, and see a great show.
