Thanksgiving Food Deliveries

This wonderful charitable event brings the community of Lakewood, both old and young, together to help those in need. Put on by LCAC (Lakewood Charitable Assistance Corporation). I was amazed at not only how much food was being given out (I was told by Celia Dorsch, a board member that more is given out in case families want to invite their extended family for Thanksgiving) and by the numbers of people who turned out. There were quite a few young people, even small children. LCAC President Jeff Worren told me how important volunteering is as a legacy in his family and teaching children the importance of giving back to the community.
In light of the many immigrant/refugee families in Lakewood, this act of kindness imprints an understanding of American holiday culture and is a "real" example of the love that the community shares with them.
When I did a similar shoot like this one in NYC, I was able to go with a few groups and shoot the reactions of the families receiving these food bags. Maybe for the next event, we can get release forms that would allow me to do this?
