Congratulations Lakewood. You Have Already Won!

You have ROCKED Summers' "Elitist Establishment" World for 9 months now.

It was supposed to be over in April, then in May and then a grassroots effort and the lawsuit shattered the "BIG LIE" and likely now the "BIG DREAM"

Summers was supposed to be unapposed.

Now Summers and his Cronies are fighting for political survival, their jobs and the promised carrots

No matter what happens tomorrow Lakewood has already won.

And the lose......

Rock On!

or longer....

Never bet against Lakewoodites, the Pope learned.

And do not call 97% of them stupid, because you are in some imaginary elitist 3%.

Because that ignorant comment makes us all look stupid.

And we are not.

I disagree.
Lakewood only wins if we have a change in leadership tomorrow.

Sadly, Team Summers loyalists like Jen Pae are still feverishly working to re-elect Summers.
Many of his loyalists are will stick to him to the end.

With all the talk and controversy going on with our upcoming election, there seems to be a feeling in the air among some that perhaps a small group of insiders are really running this city. Indeed some people seem to feel that our government generally, and politics in particular have been taken from their hands by some "power elite", secretly making decisions that affect the lives of all of us.

Well, since confessions seem to be popular these days, I too have a confession to make. I confess to being a member of that "power elite" who run this city year after year. The feeling of power is truly awesome. I confess to having been present often at that secret place where the future of our city is decided. By my presence, I have participated in determining the fate of thousands of people.

Yes, I confess that I have indeed personally helped make those decisions.

That secret place? It's your ballot box. Why not become a member of the "power elite" yourself?

Please vote. Stand up for Lakewood!

Back to the banjo... :D

Gary,

Great post as always, but don't you agree that even the "power elite" that you belong to can be fooled by misinformation that steals their "mojo"?

Brian,

The main thing that concerns me and should concern everyone, I suppose, is the historic lack of voter participation in the democratic process. We should have a better than average turnout tomorrow here in Ohio for obvious reasons, but I'm still concerned that the percentage of registered voters who actually vote will quite possibly be much smaller than it otherwise could be.

As far as opinion-swaying and mis-information goes, voters are swayed by many things, but they do seem to show up at the polls for what they really care about.

Tomorrow will tell the tale for a number of things, I suppose.

Sometimes, based on my experience in Political Science, (undergrad degree) I like to predict outcomes for the fun of it. Not this time.
