FitzGerald Convicted Of Election Violations

Back in 2008 Ed FitzGerald was convicted by the Ohio Elections Commission of 5 counts of printing false statements on his campaign literature. However, the Elections Commission ruling was made less than 12 hours before the polls opened and the Plain Dealer and other outlets didn't run the story until way after the fact. A bit late. F
Fact is FitzGerald knows the Elections Commission is a paper tiger and lying to the voters only results in a minor slap on the wrist. So why not?
The Board of Elections could not approve his final 2007 campaign report and his treasurer Gayle Wellman, reportedly refused to sign off on the final report. Gayle was concurrently the treasurer of the Lakewood Democratic Club, which FitzGerald was President, an organization that could not account for its contributions either.
Well that explains why Mayor Summers signed with Ed, he knew how to break laws and which ones to break.
The real questions is why did Lakewoodites sit by and get played again, and again, and again...
