The Lakewood boys' soccer team won its OHSAA tournament game tonight.

They beat North Royalton 1-0 in a double overtime game at North Royalton.

They move on to play a Halloween day game at 4pm at a site to be determined.
Their opponent will be St. Ignatius, which will be heavily favored.
The good news: St. Ignatius is playing the "Holy War" in Lakewood at 2pm that day, so they will have very few fans at the soccer game.

On a down note, the girls team lost yesterday in their tournament game against Strongville.

Coach Toth and I (LHS 85', 86')played against St. Ignatius coach Mike McLaughlin in high school. Mike was great player and is obviously a great coach. It's going to be a really tough game for the LHS boys. But stranger things have happened. Go Rangers!.
