Another "BIG LIE" about a "BIG DREAM." Hype, Hype, Hype, no delivery.
Defendant Summers has Zero credibility.

It looks like you are referring to a past discussion that has fallen off the top page. Link please?

Dan
I am going back to January after we broke the story of the Hospital closing.
The Mayor came back two days later saying, "The Hospital is not closing." "I heard 200 beds." and "$120 million in new development."
None of it true, and the Mayor knew it as he stood at the podium and said it to residents and the media.
Council President Mary Louise Madigan was a little more distressed calling it "a lie," and "Metro was still involved."
January 10th I have the date, so 287 days ago, the Mayor started off the most important news in our history with a complete fabrication.
He has spent over $1 million in public assets getting the word out, do you feel like you have been told the truth yet?

Never did.
Some weeks after the announcement, I asked someone from City Hall for substantiation of the claim that no one else was interested. He said he'd get back to me, but that didn't happen. A little while after that the news about the Metro proposal surfaced.
I was told about how Lakewood couldn't support a hospital and if we didn't take this deal, we'd be left with an empty lot. A longer while after that, they started trumpeting the 6 acre empty lot and what a development opportunity it represented.
I voted for 64, not because it is a good law - it shouldn't be necessary - but I lack trust in many of our current elected officials.

Jim,
I knew when we first met on April 25, 2015 that you were a very unique person. Little did I know then that we were both iconoclasts, yet from polar opposite worlds. Scary for the elitist ruling class?
Dan,
The link is:

This link is as Joe Pesci said in "My Cousin Vinny" What Summers said is total B____t!
Summers has reworked this page at City Hall several times thinking he can fool the public that his $120 million figure can be explained in a "new math" kind of way.
Its kind of scary since they now have 4 of 5 Board of Education members signing on to this "new math." Forked tongued Bullock admitted to me that the $120 million figure was fiction, but it remains there on the official site since January 15th. That's 287 days of Pinocchios if Jim has counted right.
Would you trust these 4 BOE "educators" to guide the school system that educates your children and grandchildren in the basics of math?
Summers had to use this $120 million figure because:
(1) Subsidium appraised the assets at $120 million and
(2) Metro promised a $110 million investment in its second proposal. (Note that Summers said that there was no second proposal---- yours truly pursued them for months after the Metro deal was "dead" in order to get City Hall to cough up the second proposal Summers said didn't exist--a huge Summers Pinocchio ).
But the CCF/Summers plan falls $80 million short of the mark. Its a scam.
Jim's post here jogged my memory on one of the other BIG LIES contained in the LOI that seems like decades ago:
“
healthcare is changing from facility- and physician-based paradigm, designed to care for the sick, to a population based effort that aims to improve the health of an entire community by helping people live healthier lives, treating their health conditions early to prevent chronic diseases, and reducing the need for “sick care” in hospitals.”
This is total hogwash! EVERY hospital system is building facilities EVERYWHERE and trying to higher nearly every physician they can.
Why is this scam still alive?
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ $imple.
Back in April, I showed the "paradigm" quote to a top healthcare lawyer I know--he said "Your Mayor needs to grow a spine and a brain"
True story

I always appreciate a "My Cousin Vinny" quote. Though not quite a classic of modern cinema, I constantly find it resonating as I go through life, especially after reading that press release with what we know now. Putting Vinny's evaluation on the situation is spot on.
I did my own math and found that a spine plus a brain equals two, so they are a pair. Are you saying he needs to grow a pair?

Despite all the endorsements by those who have known him for a while, many from his LHS Class of 1972 say Summers is very weak and not very smart. I agree. Jim thinks by me saying that, Summers gets the sympathy vote--people see our smiling mayor being taken advantage of by CCF. Its really not that way at all---nobody can cheat an honest man--W.C. Fields.
Summers' weakness and foolishness starts and ends with his "inner circle" of advisors, cronies and longtime pals. Without a strong "inner circle" he can't be an effective leader. Summers' inner circle is all about what's in it for them and not the general public that Summers and the advisors are supposed to serve. So Summers is serving his inner circle, and not the other way. He is a weak leader--his stubbornness does not make him strong--its actually one of his biggest weaknesses.
Ironically, in my first meeting with Summers on April 8, 2015 he criticized Mike Skindell for thinking that the hospital situation was simple. Unlike Summers, who did not honor his agreement to continue our meetings, Skindell (who comes from the opposite end of the political spectrum than I) has freely given me his time and truly listens. I have come to learn Skindell is very smart, hardworking and very honest. Skindell understands the hierarchy of issues involved, but also that honesty and transparency are simple core issues in leadership.
Summers' tortured $120 million claim and other inane claims he makes like "nobody is interested" underscored that Summers has made this unnecessarily complex in order to hide what he does not want us to see.
People may not like the "blood on the floor" caused by me prying information from Summers and his inner circle of bad actors, but in 30 years of catching snakes, I've always found it effective to get down on my belly in the grass to find where they hide. My sense is there is a lot more stuff hidden in the grass that we don't know yet.

Brian,
I never did understand that line of reasoning from those who defend Defendant Summers.
On the one hand, they praise Defendant Summers for having the business savvy of being born into wealth and inheriting his family's business.
On the other hand, they excuse his dastardly deeds by arguing that Defendant Summers just isn't that bright.
So, the fate of Lakewood must rest with a dimwit who just happened to be born into wealth?
The following quote is a good summary of Defendant Summers:
And, Brian, you are spot on with the W.C. Fields' quote:
Unlike Defendant Summers, nobody will cheat Mr. Clean.
