The 18,000 people in Avon sure need a lot of health care.

The article mentions that there is an increased need for in patient rehabilitation.

If so why would Mayor Summers transfer Lakewood Hospital beds to Avon? Why would he give away Lakewood Hospitals rehabilitation bed licenses?

I'm beginning to think that the people of Build Lakewood are delusional. Do they really think there is no need for in patient medical care? Do they rally think they can replace 1,500 jobs and millions of dollars in economic activity with a still secret "development".

Lorain county will also have a new facility in North Ridgeville.

My question is, how many people will decide to leave Lakewood, with its aging and outdated housing stock, high taxes, and lack of a hospital and doctors? Why, move to Avon where all the docs are going, get a newer house with modern conveniences, shiny new hospitals, and LOWER TAXES!

We are literally GIVING people reasons to leave!

Well Todd, you couldn't GIVE me a house in Avon.

Meanwhile, I've been here 36 years and I'd like to stay. Keeping the city strong is very important to me. Why our leaders want to give away a cornerstone of our economy, and hasten our decline, baffles me.

I'm staying and fighting.

Boy, those folks out it Avon must certainly be a special lot. Look at all the investment going on! Of course, with the Clinic so entrenched here in Lakewood and the future so uncertain, no system will touch Lakewood with a 10 ft. pole right now.

This is the toxic atmosphere the mayor has facilitated here in Lakewood! Thanks Mike, way to go!

That's Mike SUMMERS that created the toxic atmosphere in Lakewood.
