We have heard from the Build Lakewood backers.
We have heard from Save Lakewood Hospital backers.
Is there anything coming from the CCF about the ordeal? Not necessarily just on the Deck, but in general.

Is all of my conversations with CCF people they are committed to trying to keep Lakewoodites happy. But I am sure they have limits like everyone else.
Behind the scenes rumors are CCF is offering nothing more, but this often happens when you have the wrong people haggling.

Should, or can, the CCF offer more? What more would, or could, they offer? Do you think anything they could offer would satisfy the situation, or at least come close?

Offer to whom? Say an offer or judgement is rendered of $100 million. Should this just go in the City's general fund? Should that money go to a board which let it be frittered away in the first place?

Hearing from Build Lakewood, LHA and Summers IS the same as hearing from CCF.
The money in the taxpayer lawsuit is paid to the City not LHA---LHA is a defendant and its insurers will pay. Summers is a Defendant and his insurers will pay.

Why should they offer more when the people they are negotiating with have accepted what they've already offered?
We need a new negotiating team.

How about CCF just following their contract that should be in effect until 2026. But then, there are no city officials that will make them do that.

Interesting.
Do you think the CCF image (or brand) will be harmed in this process? Or will this just be chalked up to "doing business" which has nothing to do with the medical side of the CCF. The CCF is popping up everywhere (ex: Florida), could this harm their expansion and keep other communities away from doing business with them?

Offer more? According to Build Lakewood and Summers, we got a great deal!
Although I notice that many of their supporters here posted that they still hoped for a BETTER deal, (what, didn't believe the mayor got the best deal?

) you have to ask yourself, WHO is going to get a better deal? The SAME PEOPLE who grabbed what they could and ran with it? Is the Clinic stupid?

Corey - While I know what you're getting at, a CCF facility doesn't just "pop up." The same way a Dollar General store doesn't just "pop up." It's there because someone gave it a great deal of thought. Just saying,

You're right. The right term would have been "expanding."

Hospital systems use people like Summers, Bullok, Madigan, Kenny, Carson, Brytwa, Patton, Beebe, Stein, Einhouse, Shaugnessy--it is documented that they dangle carrots (in this case the foundation and a "significant parcel" od real estate", tracks at the high school, domed stadiums over a soccer field, a rec center, something for active living, something for the historical society etc. ) to divide communities. Do your own research and you will see this is common place. The BLers are being played for fools--they just don't know yet.
"You can't cheat and honest man." W.C. Fields
If they get their foundation it will be like the John Huston film "treasure of Sierra Madre" where they all kill each other fighting over it. Just wait--you'll see.
