Not yet, but will keep you posted.

The Rocky River in the Emerald Canyon has no noticeable increase in
water, ice or flow.

Ducks line up around the edge of a break in the ice.

The ice has broken.

Image
What looks like little flecks of ice are actually hundred pound blocks or more.
The whiter the flecks the thicker they are. Here is a tree that has been
stripped coming down river.

Image
It creates ice dams and starts to back up river, which leads to flooding
and ice build up. Should it freeze, it is a real nightmare.

Here the ice has backed up nearly a half of mile.

I'm just happy to see that the ice hasn't been the only thing around this deck to thaw out. :D

Ah, Kumbayah peace in the valley, if only but for a brief Camelot moment... :D

Gary

I agree, you harping about garbage....

However, I have been working on the paper, and checking out laws about
disclosure, and will be back at it come Monday.

I found the current thread about new school funding and how we might
have screwed up. Hmmmmmmmm, who was pushing that again? There seems
to be a common thread in ill thought out plans in this city.

Sharon

I am not supposed to be out for a couple more days, but I love the thaw,
the river and The Emerald Canyon.

Glad it cheers you up. Hopefully I can get down there for the dynamite!

Me, harping? No. :(

Concerns? Yes.

Questions? Yes.

Nice Photos though. :D

Remember those touching paper lanterns that float down those rivers in Japan on special occasions?

Who knows? Maybe a new summertime activity for Lakewood could be an annual garbage can river race.

Using all those no-longer-used old style garbage cans, we could maybe race down river in them. :?:

Might be an issue getting a permit though....

Hmmm.....considering the type of fish we might encounter along the way, at least that would not be harping.

Instead, I suppose you could call it "carping". :D
