Instead of talking about the regular "Lakewood Shuffle" that's been going on for some time now, lets take on a lighter topic.

What's on your gift list this year?

I'll start. Mine is pretty simple.

Two books;
Annie Leibovitz At Work (just came out last month)
Inferno- James Nachtwey (really hard to find a copy of it. It's a large book and goes for around $150. Insane should be the title)

And to finish the list off, a nice pair of black dress pants that actually fit me.

Let's hear yours!

I really really really really want a negative scanner, I would love to get all my old photographs into a digital mode.

One of those alarm clocks that shoots the time on the ceiling so I don't have to stretch to see it five times a night and it also has a sound machine! That and socks!

Justine do you want those cool socks with toes? I think those are really neat although my husband thinks people that wear them are crazy.

Justine, Be careful, my friend has one of those and if you walk by at just the right angle it shoots the time right in you eyes!!

I am going to give my self the gift of not feeling bad about spending a little bit of money on myself.

To wake up on Christmas morning with my kids here with me, gather around the tree with a roaring fire and just enjoy. Have you ever noticed how really quiet Christmas morning is? No cars, no leaf blowers, lawn mowers or snow blowers, no garbage trucks or street cleaners. Just peacefulness. Enjoy and peace and love to all.

I want Patrick to have a good day...LOL. Honestly, all I really want is just a nice day with my family, my dogs and the Santa Donation Ferry to stop by. New socks, flannel pjs, a soft comfy pillow.

Gave myself one - brand new tennis shoes with polka dots - Yes I did!

Ivor - try Penney's.

I hope everyone has loved one's to spend the day with and a way to laugh.

Blessings.

Ivor – go to Gieger’s in Lakewood. I’ve bought pants at JC Penny, Kaufmann’s, Brooks Brothers but none compare to fit and quality at Gieger’s. Chas’ tailor is outstanding (I believe his name is John). You won’t be disappointed. :D

As for me....I’d like to have one of those electronic picture frames so I can see different pics of my family throughout the day.

An 'edit' button for my vocal cords. At least that is what my wife wants me to get.

Well if Sharon is crazy enough for those I might be too. I would settle for matching socks since all our matches disappear.

For anyone in need of decent gloves made naturally Local Girl Gallery has a knitter that makes them by hand and they are THE softest things I ever put on my hands-I think you can request colors and there are some pretty ones.

Now that I am on the subject, start your holiday shopping in Lakewood! There are tons of shops here to buy GREAT gifts:

Goddess Blesses
Beshe Bath and Body
Local Girl
Pop Shop
Wobblefoot
new antique stores
many restaurants, salons, massage palors for gift certificates
Hardware for the men!
Wine and beer making kits for the MEN (to make for the women) (Rozi's)
Madison Rose Bookstore-you can have them order any book too!

Honestly I never leave Lakewood except for gifts for the kids. And because I do feel guilty for the indulgence of Christmas and all the gifts I feel I must buy, I feel a lot better picking up an extra one here and there for needy kids. I think all the schools here have a tree with names and ages and a gift they would like-you could even buy a book or something small and it goes a long way.

If it works like time travel and takes me back twenty years I will pay top dollar!

Buy yourself something and don't feel bad! think that you are supporting the economy and what good you are doing!
