Hi,
Obama is taking office Jan. 20th. Word is he wants a new bailout plan on his desk that day.
This plan is "New Deal" huge! Major infrastructure and new schools! Argh....
We just built new schools. Does this mean we lose out? Is Sarah Palin's little town going to get more of this money than Lakewood? WAKE UP Dennis! WAKE UP Lakewood City Hall! What infrastructure projects have you asked for?

Hi,
I hope you are wrong. DL. Perhaps involved citizens, like those on the Planning Commission, can move good ideas forward.
I was thinking about our new schools, and one thing I know we were promised but nevered delivered on was the new schools would be green. All we really got was a typical greenwashing.
The new Obama Administration is hopefully more committed than that to developing green technology. How about we request a grant to develop renewable energy to power our new schools and City facilities? We could maybe try this technology:
Ocean currents can power the world, say scientists I'll bet Lake Erie would be an excellent site to try this (perhaps off the w117th peninsula).

Hi,
Well, I saw the number today.
"The nation's governors got to work on Tuesday, taking their case to the president-elect for a $136 billion infrastructure spending program that they hope will funnel immediate government money toward bridges, roads and rail lines in the hopes of creating jobs and spurring the economy out of recession." see:
http://www.miamiherald.com/news/politic ... 96490.html
I saw Arnald begging for federal dollars for Calliforneya. But no mention of the Great State of Ohio. I know its a lot of money but it will disappear faster than the $700 billion now hidden away by the financial institutions that caused the problem anyhow.
Lakewood Government should be burning the midnight oil coming up with ways to utilize a portion of this money for Lakewood's good. Come on guys! This is a once in a lifetime chance. Think big!
Propose 4 peninsulas to double the size of Lakewood.
Ask for overpasses over the train tracks
Ask for money to rebuild our port.
Ask for money to make Lakewood use renewable energy.
Ask for 500 hundred things, maybe we will get 5.
Wake Up Dennis! Wake Up Lakewood Elected Officials!
