With the economy tanking in our area and more and more people out of work, people are running out of unemployment benefits.

Sherrod is seeking to get them extended and wants local stories of people on unemployment or who have run out and still not found a job.

For some families, this is the only thing between them and homelessnees and things look like they're going to get worse instead of better in our region.

Sharon, I've been hearing about more and more problems with food banks and shelters having enough as well.

While I'm still skeptical of how much the government can and will do to help, I have plenty of hope and faith that Lakewood will rise to the occasion and fill in the gaps to help their neighbors.

I'm very concerned about resources drying out and hoping that those with more pitch in to help these people.
