The Observation Deck

I am very happy to report that our Model United Nations Club did outstanding at our most recent competition at CSU. Our students always make me proud with their hard work and passion for learning. They always act respectfully at conferences. It's a true priviledge to work with them.

Seniors Peter Malonis and John Kearney won an Honorable Mention Delegation Award representing Cuba. Juniors Grant Colvin and Zack Urbach won a Superior Delegation Award representing South Africa. Sophomore Alberto Rodriquez and Junior Una Bobinacs won a Superior Delegation award representing North Korea. Model UN President Senior Robin Elder and Senior Vice President Matt Wesley, representing South Africa, won the Excellent Delegation Award in the prestigious UN Security Council. Also participating in the Security Council, Model UN Secretary Senior Alex Neidert and Senior Thealexa Becker won the Superior Delegate Award. Finally, Junior Grant Colvin was award the “Gavelâ€￾ for the most outstanding delegate for representing South Africa in the UN Economic and Social Council.

Chuck -- I am aware of the Model United Nations Program and I know how strenuous and intellectually demanding it can be. That being said, makes all the commendations that OUR LHS students won a matter of community pride.

Just want to thank you for all of the time and effort you invest in our students to participate in Model UN. I am so pleased that my kids, Meredith and Brian, have been involved in such a great program. All of the students work very hard on their position papers, have the opportunity to engage in public speaking practice, and of course, represent LHS very well in front of the wider Cleveland community!

The word needs to spread about what an extraordinary job you, Dr. Wagner, and the other faculty and staff members do for the students at LHS. We have a top notch high school with probably the most accomplished faculty in a high school in the Cleveland area -- facts that certainly do not get recognized as much as they should! Your work is appreciated by all of us parents - thank you again!
