Wow. This ought to make it a blast to get out of the Browns game! Maybe I'll hang out for a free concert.

Are they going to be in Lakewood?

Looking for equal time because Palin is campaigning in Lakewood?

I just got this report from a contact on Twitter:
Wife went down to downtown Cleveland Obama rally. 12 block line to get in gate. I'm not kidding. Browns game 70k+ letting out at 4 too. Wow.

My aunt called and told me that his plane just touched down and I guess Springsteen is playing.

I'm so excited for these kids.

We just got home. I took my oldest son and my daughter, they were so excited to go. We got down there late because we didn't get home from church until 12:30. We weren't able to get into the mall area but we were able to watch on a screen in one of the overflow areas. The crowd was amazing, even the majority of the Browns fans were nice when the got out of the game. We met up with some other Lakewood families. So my kids were happy to see other kids. My 8 year old daughter commented that Obama was really funny. And she loved listening to Springsteen, she was dancing around. My son just said the whole thing was awesome. The both listened so attentively when he was speaking, I wish they would listen to me as carefully. So all in all it was really great. Oh and I saw Ivor in the press line, so I am expecting some really fabulous pictures.

I just came home myself!

I was able to get access to a lift that took a few select photographers maybe 30 feet in the air above the crowd and stage. What a view.

Look for photos later on.

I saw where you were, we were standing back behind the line where you were waiting to get in. The bleachers looked like a perfect spot for taking photos. I was going to yell hello, but I was behind a wall and figured you wouldn't know who it was. Glad you got some good photos and I am really excited for you to be that close.

I was there with Ivor. The Obama campaign had the same media handler there as they did in Berea this summer. His name is Paul Storall, a NYC actor when he's not on the campaign trail. He remembered us from the Berea event where he let Ivor get in close and photograph from "the pit" below Obama. Ivor got some great photos that day.

Storall told me he had a big surprise for Ivor. After the event started he summoned Ivor and they disappeared. Next thing I see is this huge scissor lift taking the two of them high above the crowd to the left of the stage.

I'm sure they had a great view from up there. I can't wait to see the photos.

I spent a lot of time talking to some members of the international press that were brought over by the U.S. State Department. They've been sort of adopted by the International Center for Foreign Journalists that has sent them from one end of the country to the other.

They have had a number of opportunities to see Presidential and Vice-presidential candidate rallies. Ahmed Arpat, from Turkey, told me, "The world needs Obama."

Another member of the group, from Ireland, told me that he'd seen Palin in Canton this morning at a high school. He was shocked that there were only two non-white people in a crowd of about 4,000. Those two were Secret Service agents.

They were an interesting bunch. Always interesting to get another perspective.

A bird's eye view. Which will become a 5' print.
