He is still in California whining and dining with the Hollywood Gliterati:

Who?
Maybe he hasn't been in town because there hasn't been a real good photo-op lately.
Maybe he can get this impeachment thing sewn up by January so he can lay the hammer to the Prez. (as he leaves office)
Maybe he can announce his Presidential candidacy for 2012 so he can continue his whirlwind tour and ignore his district for another 4 years.
It's about time residents of the 10th District, get a rep that at least gets involved in issues pertinent to his/her constituents. This guy is using all of you as his national platform, and the sad part is that you don't see it.

John/Bill
Have you two actually tried to see him? You know stop by the office and talk with him about ideas or concerns. It seems that I see him nearly weekly, and he returns my phone calls within 24 hours.
I guess you do not count the Congressman actually finding the pattern in predatory lending that is leading to Congressional laws as important.
I guess you believe that GWB never lied, and everything going on in Iraq is happenstance.
I guess you believe the trillions going into an illegal war has no affect on the 10th District.

The biggest predatory lenders (so called) were Freddie Mae and Freddie Mac. The government is set to give them trillions of dollars in loan guarantees. Why? because it is the playground of democratic party officials.
Kuncinich's main focus is on finding a solution to the "Jewish Problem". I can understand his focus because I understand his anti-semitism. I cannot understand why his supporters turn a blind eye to his support of terrorists.

Bill the first has nothing to do with the Congressman's stance, who often runs contrary to the party line.
The second is another baseless attack.
From the front page of the PD, I think the Congressman was in Washingto testifying, not in California.
I guess we got "called."

Jim,
FYI the mortgage solution that is being passed is doing nothing but harm. We are bailing out private companies and we are hurting the general population.
Folks will no longer be able to use the down payment assitance program which will eliminate up to 40 percent of new home FHA purchases. The 12 month ban on risked based PMI is going to lead to higher costs across the board on FHA loans. The foreclosure "bailout" portion will help virtually no one.
In order to get that help your current lender has to be willing to lower your balance down to 90 percent of the new mrket value AND pay FHA 3 percent. If you can find any lender dumb enough to do that then you ca get a new loan with some huge problems.
When you sell your home you have to pay a 3 percent prepayment penalty - which is what the governemt is making other lenders get rid of. Then if you sell the gov is going toget more money, 100% of yourprofit in the first year, 90 the second and down 10 each year til 50 for the rest of the time.
What a GREAT solution! Go Dennis and the gov, sticking their hands in for a vote and will blame someone else when it fails miserably.

You have to give up the negative hatred.
Dennis did not start or cosign that bill. Blaming him is a stretch at best. What the congressman did was bring the Federal Reserve in to testify about their habits of discounting predatory lending institutions. ESPECIALLY IN THE 10th DISTRICT. I covered the conferences and the hearings.
This was the congressman once again fighting for all of us, especially in the 10th. The hearings were in the 10th, the examples used were all of the 10th, and a little farther east. But why let facts get in the way of a real good negative rant.
Some day The Congressman will be nearly on Robert Bird levels. He does not run the party line, he does what he feels is right and what helps his constituents. This is what I would hope all elected officials do. Take some chances, and strongly advocate for his constituents.

I think if you go back and read the Congressman's comments he is closer to your thoughts than that of the democratic party.
All of Congressman's Kucinich hearings and thoughts have been on individual help for those that can prove they are victims of predatory lending, as opposed to the bailouts of institutions that should have known better. His meetings had shown much of what some of us have been talking about for some time, an attack on regions, with the help of banks, lending institutions, and developers. Working to obtain huge tracks of land for redevelopment and gentrification.
He has no will to bail out bums, but the hard working person that was given "great deals" on pulling equity out of their homes. Only to watch the rate melt as they lost their homes. That being backed up with good home owners that are now in terrible shape because of the economy.
While his thoughts are harder to patrol, like welfare. It would cost the country much less, do much more for keeping responsible home owners in homes, and not giving money to institutions that will use it for their books not bailing out those that could use it.
Please remember it was the banks, that bankrupted Cleveland, to teach Mayor Kucinich a lesson, when he stopped the takeover of Cleveland Power. It was the banks and the PD that then worked overtime to teach residents how bad and foolish the young mayor was. Cleveland was bankrupted by their choice, not by actions of then Mayor Kucinich.
But I am sure you realize that.

Jim,
I made a mistake posting my comments where I did last night. I should have started a new thread.
I agree that Dennis didn't have much to do with it. I am just sick of politicians doing shady things and then bragging in the headlines that they are helping. My dislike of the bill has nothing to do with my dislike of Dennis

I should have kept it seperate.
It was late and I was on my blackberry so I wasn't paying as much attention to the thread I was in.

Wow Ryan, You really post on the Deck from the Blackberry. I find it so cumbersome that it is worth waiting till I get to a computer. HAHAH
Kudos to Ryan for his dedication

Kucinich was at Judiciary Committee Hearings this week. He is the only congressman with any balls these days. Thank God we have someone that will not let us forget the disaster created by this current president and his administration. Only 176 more days.
"Kucinich, the loudest impeachment backer in Congress, was the hearing's first witness. He described devastation wrought by the Iraq war and listed untrue claims he accused the Bush administration of making before invading that Iraq harbored terrorists and was developing nuclear weapons as justification for congressional action against Bush."
More power to him!

Than you should love Dennis. Never claims he is getting much done, just trying to keep them honest. He is a tireless worker but does not take on the glamorous fights that would get him the glamorous money.
Thanks for the note.

That CA fundraiser seems like a glamourous way to raise glamorous money to me...
Not that there's anything wrong with that.
