LO Scoop - School Board Accepts Dr. Estrop's Resignation

In This Week's Lakewood Observer - The Full Story With Comments.

This Sunday morning at a special Board meeting The Lakewood School Board ratified the terms of the agreement between Dr. Estrop and the Lakewood City School District Board of Education of March 12, 2007 and accepting the resignation of Dr. David Estrop as submitted effective at the end of the business day on July 31, 2009.

It would seem that he signed the letter of resignation at the same time as the he was given a 3 year contract.

I believe this was one of many reasons why he was quoted in papers saying, there was no future for him in Lakewood.

However one would have to really think twice about having something as important as our schools run by a person that has no future here.

There are many pieces of this just coming to light.

Went back and checked.

It was not a unanimous vote by the School Board to renew Dr. Estrop's contract. Sweeney, Shaughessy, Beebe, Geiger voted for it. Ed Favre voted no.

Will try to get more comments, than those that appear in the story, online soon.

Will call Board President Chas Geiger this morning, and see if we can get some more comments.
