Take a look at this week's crains cleveland business. They talk about honey bees AND the expectation that 25,000 will move back to downtown Cleveland.

Wouldn't it be great if we could offer the suburban alternative to urban living?????????

I wonder if Lakewood would even fit the modern concept of "suburbia" or if a new term is needed?

The continuum between exurb, suburb, and city is pretty wide. It is mostly what depth and breadth and scale of commercial and civic amenities are concentrated within a half mile or mile of most homes and apartments.

It would be interesting to know how many:

butcher shops
tailors
shoe stores
furniture re-upholstery
groceries
theatres
book stores
appliance stores
hardware stores
electronic stores
other specialty stores
etc..
there were by decade.

The inverse measure might be the square footage of driveways and parking lots per capita.
