Clifton Repaving Status?
Does anyone know what the status of the Clifton Resurfacing project? I thought for sure it was this year, but I'm not seeing any orange barrels yet. Thanks!

Re: Clifton Repaving Status?
I too heard it would be an all summer thing but have yet to see progress. Just to open up this can of worms. Who is paying for the resurfacing? How much is the city paying and how much if any are we getting from ODOT and related funding sources. I say since all the western suburbs use Clifton as a major thoroughfare they should help pick up the tab.Mike Farley wrote:Does anyone know what the status of the Clifton Resurfacing project? I think ODOT is paying most of the cost.Jim DeVito wrote:I say since all the western suburbs use Clifton as a major thoroughfare they should help pick up the tab.
I think there was a plan to add a central medium landscapped with trees and flowers.
How about traffic circles and more parking? Is there some kind of law that all of Lakewood streets should be freeways for Rocky River residents? How about a elevated bike path from Webb to downtown?

This project is unfortunately very disappointing.
I live on Clifton and just received a notice that construction is going to begin by the end of the month and go until September.
All that is being done is a basic grind and overlay of asphalt. No curbs, no sidewalks, no aprons, no central landscaping, nothing but the basic cheapest option.
I for one am very disappointed that so much time was spent discussing and planning for nothing to be done.
I was told by the publics works office that talks of improvements have been going on for 20+ years with no sign of actualization.
We really could have done something nice, but I guess like a lot of things in this city we have to settle.

I agree, but in the end it all comes down to money.Ryan Salo wrote:This project is unfortunately very disappointing.

I was trying to find info on this and ended up at the link below.
I could not find anything about Clifton Road resurfacing unless that is a subset of the watermain replacement project listed. I did notice a Lake Rd resurfacing project out for bid.

It was reported in the Lakewood Sun Post yesterday.
The Sun Post seems to be doing a pretty good job lately covering lkwd. That or I'm just paying more attention to it. They even did decent coverage of sports...
http://www.cleveland.com/lakewoodsunpos ... xml&coll=4Before construction may start on the sensors, Clifton Boulevard will be re-paved in a separate project through an agreement with ODOT.
ODOT will remove the top three inches of Clifton Boulevard from West 117th to West Clifton, about 2.83 miles.
