Had to see it for myself to believe it!

Went down to Phoenix Coffee, Gary Rice had invited me to the Hippie Jam that is held every monday from 8-11 or so

WOW!

the place was packed, rockin' and I had the chance to catch up with Joe Ott and meet his wife. His daughter Emily did a great job playing the guitar along with Gary and a handful of other guitarists.

There was even a Dan Slife sighting, who jumped on the bongo's and played some beats (not the vegetable).

While the crazy man with the saw was not present, his more mellow side kick did a wonderful job orchestrating the evening!

I did not take any photos, but I will next week if there is another jam. I simply went to enjoy the music!

I encourage all fellow neighbors to join in, it's a whole lot of fun!

I had the opportunity to work with Ivor the other day with his music. He proved to be an exceptionally apt student, and a VERY quick study with the techniques necessary to express himself very well musically.

I've also had the opportunity to work with a number of the Phoenix participants with their musical development.

To help educate others, and to observe their success, is a highly rewarding experience for me. The Phoenix Monday night jam sessions are an opportunity for people to meet, raise their voices in song, enjoy a beverage or baked good, and above all else, have fun.

Monday live music at the Phoenix runs from about 8-11pm, and is hosted by a great crew of Lakewoodites.

They never know who will show up next...

By the way, I did play the saw on one song, Ivor; maybe you got there afterwards?

It sure is Ivor. This past Monday I was happy to see you stop by and join the conversation with myself, my wife, and Mr. R. Rice and everybody else. It was good to see you.

Gary, I sure hope your father comes next time. He is definitely a fun person to talk with. He's my new "Drink'n buddy" too! :D

Joe

P.S.
Ivor, don't forget the baseball thing...

Joe and Ivor,

Thanks for your company with Dad! I think he had enough coffee to sink a battleship, thanks to you, Joe!

He really enjoyed himself!

Joe,

Dad just read all of this. He loved EVERY minute (and every cup) of your company!

:D
