The other afternoon I was speaking with John Brinkman, and he was talking about how good the food is at the Hylander on Detroit. I mentioned I used to go there once in awhile for their Fish Fry. He smiled and said Best Fish Fry In Town.
I thought back to how many times Ed Favre asked Deb and I to join him and wife for the Best Fish Fry In Lakewood at Around the Corner. Or my neighbor would ask if I wanted to join him for the Best Fish Fry In Lakewood at Merry Arts.

I hear ATC has a good Fish Fry, as well as Rush Inn.
On a site note, I had brunch at ATC yesterday for the first time. It was really good!

Does anyone go to a church in Lakewood that offers a fish fry?

It's a toss up between the West End (their grouper) and Around the Corner.

Mary
The topic was fish fry!
So what you meant was "Around the Corner has the best fish fry, but I love eating at the WestEnd too!"
I think we can all understand that.
But trying to sneak the blackened grouper sandwich through on a fish fry!!!!
tsk tsk tsk
You do order that blackened right?

Jennifer, the church I attend (Pilgrim Saint Paul) has a great fish fry. They also offer pierogies.
They're at the corner of Manor Park and Detroit, and will be frying up the fish every friday of Lent.

This isn't about Lakewood Fish Fries but it's something that could be done here.
A couple of years ago, I went along with a group of friends to a different church fish fry every Friday during Lent.
We met a lot of very cool people and found out what was going on their neighborhoods and their spiritual communities.
Most fried food I've eaten in my life! It was a fun and eye opening.

Jennifer, St. James is starting one this year as a part of its 100 year Celebration.
Also, St. Luke's does one as well.

mmmm.... Lent is high Lakewood Fish Fry season.
We'll be full of Mercury, but our bellies will be happy. And expanded.

This may not count as it is actually in Rocky River, just over the bridge, but the Linden Tavern has the best fish fry I have ever had.
