We wish to cordially invite all veterans, and all interested citizens, to our program "World War II & the Greatest Generation."
Thursday, January 24th, 7:00--9:00 pm, Lakewood Women's Pavillion

This is a poster project by students of my 10th Grade US History Classes. Students have work very hard and with great enthusiam on their posters, and would be honored by the attendence of citizens, and especially veterans of any war/era/service branch. Our purposes are:

1)To thank all citizens who contributed to the war effort
2) To give special thanks to the veterans who made heroic sacrfices for the good of the whole society
3) To help students appreciate the sacrifices and valor of our veterans
4) To help students learn about the complexities of World War II, and how it transformed our society
5) To give students the opportunity to meet veterans and learn first hand what it is like to serve the country.
6) To give thanks to parents and taxpayers who make it possible for our students to attend school and to learn about such historically significant and inspirational events.

Refreshments (Desserts) will be provided. Hope to see you there!!

PS If you know of anyone who might be interested, please share this information. Thank you.

Thanks Chuck! Our veterans should be saluted every day.

I shared your invitation with the school board members. And, as you know, School Board Member Ed Favre is a veteran.

A special thanks to Mr. Greanoff and his students for their hosting of the veterans' tribute this evening at the Women's Pavilion at Lakewood Park.

My dad (a WWII vet) and I enjoyed the evening's presentation exceedingly.

A special thank you to the veterans from several periods of our nation's history for their participation and support of this wonderful tribute.

Chuck,
I'm so sorry I missed this but I have class on Thursday nights and the Woman's Pavilion was dark when I drove past : (
It sounds like the event was a wonderful tribute to our veterans and much appreciated. Thanks for fostering this creative outreach and bridge between the generations.
