So the election is over, it's 50 degrees today and pre-registration is starting on Feb 1st for softball. Will there be a field there come April and will it remain there throughout the season? There seemed to be some momentum building with the purchase of the strip mall. When should we expect to learn more about this speculated project.
Related topic, the field at Harding looks to be coming along. Any word if that will be available for league play as it was before?

The harding field probably will be available for league play. In the summer.
LHS will be using it as a softball field for the varsity squad in the spring. JV will be using either Madison or Lakewood Park, which leaves a field open (one more than there was last spring).
Don't quote me on it but I don't think the "strip mall" idea would fly well with the new guy callin' the shots. I haven't talked to him about that, but it's my assumption.
On a happy note; the Lake Erie Screw building will be welcoming in a new business that is growing rapidly. They make furnaces that melt metals (I believe), and are exporting internationally left and right.
Don't know when they're moving in, but I do know that they were welcomed with a $120,000/5 year loan that was approved by Council tonight.
Less vacancy+international businesses+growing businesses= good day for Lakewood.
