Just an FYI, there is an open seat on the Lakewood City Council, as Mayor-Elect Fitzgerald is moving up from his at-Large position. At the last council meeting, the announcement was made that the upcoming council members will be accepting applications from those interested in filling the position:

If you are interested, applications may come in the form of a cover letter and resume directed to Mary Hagan, Clerk of Council, City of Lakewood, 12650 Detroit Avenue, Lakewood, Ohio 44107. The deadline for receipt of applications is FRIDAY, JANUARY 4, 2008. Interested residents may contact Ms. Hagan at (216) 529-6053 with questions.

Thank you for your kind words. Just to clarify, I would like the position, and I already have my resume in. But to be fair, over the last several years, I have met so many bright, committed residents, both in and out of politics, that it would be a shame if anyone who is truly interested missed this announcement. I just had not seen anything regarding the application process on the Observer Deck or in the Sun.

Besides, I would be willing to make mine a fifteen minute campaign if I knew Steve Davis were applying...
