Lakewood's Night Before Christmas...

Post by Gary Rice »

THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS (Lakewood version)
(With apologies to the original author- probably Clement Clarke Moore)

'Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the town,
All was quite silent, even the running urinal was down,
Yes, the Women's Pavilion was cleared of all slush,
So that even the field mice, were safe from that flush.

While over't the library, quick as a breeze,
Waterless urinals were discussed. A flush without seas?
When to my surprise, to my eyes did appear,
An onrush of water, from a storm coming near!

Now Kenny, now Donald, now waterless stall...
Would these not be better, than a flood's waterfall?
To clean that light carpet was less than a breeze,
So come again, yes come again, waterless seas...

And at City Hall, did the clean-out proceed.
Mayor Tom cleared his desk out, and would soon cease to lead.
Before too much longer, a rumble 'twas heard in the hall.
A new guy was coming, from?..No, not a stall.

And out on the 'Deck did a topic appear?
Who, but Kumbayah Gary, and eight tiny posts dear?
Now Bill, now Ivor, now Sharon you see?
Come Stephen, come Bryan, come write here with me!
Yes, Rhonda, yes dl, yes Joe and Phil too!
What? Nine posts already? What's a big elf to do?

Yet still, before long, these posts dropped down from sight.
But not before Gary's "Merry Christmas! Good night!"
