My aunt, who is 83, just moved to Lakewood 6 months ago. She lives in the Westerly and I'm happy that she is closer to me. This makes my life easier.

She likes to read and we've never been able to schedule a trip together to visit the library. I have some health problems that make it very difficult to visit, so when I'm able to go, I get in and get out.

She fell and broke her shoulder and is bored senseless. I called the library on her behalf and they allowed my to register her for a card over the phone. I then was able to order some books and a couple of movies for her. They will deliver them to her on Tuesday.

It is truly wonderful that this was so easy to do and I know she'll love being able to get new books every two weeks.

Again, thank you.

Good Evening Sharon.

I just read about your aunt. Please welcome her to Lakewood on behalf of all of the volunteers for the Office on Aging, of which Dad and I are two of them. There are a wide variety of services, and fun activities at the East and West side senior centers in Lakewood, plus of course, Meals on Wheels delivery as needed.

Please call the Lakewood Office on Aging for a list of services that your Aunt might enjoy receiving!

Best Always!

Thanks Gary -

Actually she called and got Meals on Wheels for the time she is not able to use her right arm.

She's usually pretty spry and with it. She has been doing the table bowling and goes to a lot of the events in the Westerly. I'm encouraging her to join the chorus.

I'll call the Office on Aging and get the info. And I'll tell her about the welcome.

Thanks.
