Fibromyalgia - Comments or Helps

I saw a post where Sharon K said she had fibromyalgia.
My mother has it, and has found no relief. After reading a few books on it, and checking all the symptoms, my mother found that hers matches them exactly.
Sharon, and anyone else lurking or reading this that has any experience, comments, advice, anything regarding this terrible condition, please share them.
My mother has problems getting down to where my computer is to read the responses, would be a thousand times grateful, so I'll get the info to her.
Thank you in advance.

My fiancee has it too - I'll see if she has any info.
The Library does have Fibromyalgia For Dummies, which I finished reading recently. It has a ton of information for people like me who don't know very much about it.

Mark and all.
You get diagnosed with fibromyalgia by a rheumatologist.
There are two drugs that help with the pain. The first I would recommend is the new one I'm taking called Lyrica. It really does help.
The one I originally was taking was Ultram.
When I went to my GP to ask for a refill on the Ultram. She wanted me to try the Lyrica and I'm very happy with it. I don't take these drugs everyday, only when the pain is very intense. It seems like when the barometric pressure changes or I'm under stress that it flares up the worst.
Nothing will ever make the pain totally go away but, they make it more than bearable.
Good luck. Please tell your mother to go the a rheumatologist to start treatment.

Mark,
There is a new study and they're looking for women 18 - 75.

I would suggest adding ground flax seed to your diet. It is a great anti inflammatory and contains the highest level of alpha omega 3 fatty acids of any seed. You need to use a burring coffee grinder and organic seeds available in bulk at Natures Bin.
I've researched this exhaustively and those I have suggested this to have given me positive feedback. It also works great for arthritis, back and joint pain. Add a few more ingredients and it's a homeopathic treatment for "the blues"
Everyone can use this but it should relieve many of your symptoms.

I wonder if it would help with restless legs syndrome. I haven't been formally diagnosed, but I am showing all the symptoms.

Steve -
Thanks I'm going to give this a try. Maybe this will also prompt me to go back to drinking Eight O'Clock coffee, which is a luxury for me but I love, love, love it. Ya know because now I will have to purchase bean grinder to replace my dead one.
By the way I also have osteo arthritiis.
David,
RLS is annoying. Actually I'm a meds for that too, but I would be very interested to know if there is a natural treatment for that.
I've tried other things for issues I gave and frankly they didn't work. I'm talking a vertiable potpourri of homeopathic solutions, but hey I'll give it a try. I hate taking meds.
