It looks like at the beginning of December. Lakewood will have a CrossFit gym at the NE corner of Madison and McKinley (where the lamp place use to be). CrossFit is a blast!

PS it is not for the faint of heart  :D

That's right across from my office. I noticed that the "for rent" sign came down a couple of months ago, but I haven't seen much activity in there. Maybe there isn't much that needs to be done. It'll be nice having a new neighbor.....Hellman's has been closed for three years.

They also did free work outs in the valley aka the Emerald Canyon on Saturdays underneath the Hilliard bridge at 9:30 am. Last week was the last one for the season. They were a blast.

I wonder that they will do about the lack of parking in that area? If I remember correctly there were 3-4 spots on the side of the existing building and an RTA area next to it. Other than that it is street parking which can be rare due to apartments in the area.

But only if you're driving OB's mini.... Probably the best you could do is 4 or 5, but with the exception of the fire hydrant, there is room for a couple in front. But, no question, parking in the area can be at a premium. Fortunately, a fitness center will have a clientele that doesn't mind walking! 8)

Tim, the floors were just painted this week and the pull-up bars will be going up next week. A CrossFit Gym is very different from your average gym. You will probably will not notice a difference on the inside of the gym until all of the equipment is moved in (probably in two weeks). They were working on the electrical today and it looks like the showers and bathrooms were at least half way done.

Why not use and support Lakewood's new YMCA. It is fabulous.

The Y was not designed for a CrossFit work out. (nor does it have the equipment)
