The current owners of Crazy Rita's have decided to transform the site into a Cleats sports bar. It should open up in a couple of weeks.
My wife and I tried Crazy Rita's a number of times and found the food to be bad and the service worse. Other than that it was ok.

My one son and I went there once. Bad food, bad service and strange atmosphere. No return trip for me!

Went once. The menu was indecipherable. Everything you knew had a different name (fries were goal posts...or some such thing). Mentioned it to the owner. He told me it was design to force the diner to read the menu....
But, the food was awful.
Needs a whole lot more than a name change.....

Did I hear this right?
More wings and more TV's for Lakewood and the bad management stays.
Are we that easy to please?

Yes.
The owner's of Crazy Rita's also own (part) of a trendy Tremont restraunt and nice Spanish place in Westlake. When I heard they were opening a texmex place in Lakewood I thought it would thrive.
Well, maybe no. It did close. On the other hand Pacer's has the nicest patio in town with bad ribs and bad service and they do ok. I don't know, maybe yes.

I'm excited for Cleats, maybe they will press for a rooftop patio--something to seperate from the norm.
Corey
Maybe if First Federal lowers the rent they can practically give away the wings.

What kills me is that I had Fratello's / Amici's ready to look at the place and come back to Lakewood.
Oh. well...

If nothing else, maybe the Madison Avenue Art Walk pointed out that we have more "genuine, neighborhood" bars and restaurants on Madison.
A Crazy Rita's on Madison?? How droll. Give me the old Lark Ridge (The Corner Pub) or good old stand bys like Trio's or the Patio any day.

We went to Crazy Rita's once for dinner without the kids after they opened. What I liked was they took our gift certificate for the restaurant that was there before and closed suddenly and we heard rumor they were in the same family. We did find the food very unmemorable and priced higher than it was worth. For mexican we usually leave Lakewood now. Then we went back for a retirement party for friends and we didn't get bad service, we got no service and had to go to the bar for drinks. It was one of the coldest atmospheres in dining/drinking I can remember and yes a weird vibe in there, like unconnected. The drinks weren't even good, maybe watered down.
Anyway Cleats does well in other places so I hope their name isn't ruined if this is by the same management! Maybe someone should tell them!

Only buffet worth talking about is India Garden at lunch.
However to get goat, you have to go on the weekends.
