Look for a great story (i'm sure) from Mike Deneen in the next issue about Rocky Bleier. What a nice person, and what a interesting life story. He has a movie out about his life called "Fighting Back: The story of Rocky Bleier". He was wounded twice in one day, from a gunshot and a grenade, one wound per leg, and ended up coming back to the Steelers and winning 4 championships.

He talked about how in "Question/Answer" sessions kids would always ask "how much money do you make?" or what kind of car he drives, etc. etc. and that raised my interest.

Are kids nowadays looking up to professional athletes because of their wealth in money, instead of soldiers, policemen (and women), firefighters, medics and doctors that do so much more for this nation?

Just a thought. gotta head to bed, I have to be at the car dealer tomorrow morning to get the family car fixed!

G'night all.

What a great evening. Rocky was such a dynamic speaker, with a really great message, not just for the student athletes, but for families and community.

It was hard to believe that he had talked for over an hour and then took another half hour of questions. Although there was a smattering of Steeler's "Boos", at times, Rocky made it clear that he is grateful to the Browns for at least two reasons......He had his longest run from scrimmage against Cleveland. As a result of Joe "Turkey" Jones "planting" Bradshaw, Pittsburgh found itself with a rookie quarterback who was relegated to handing off for the season....and Rocky had his only 1000 yard season.

Great Evening. Thanks so much to Dan and Sandy for making it possible.
