Library "First to see the best" a huge success

Last night, all of the hard working committee people who were responsible for making the Library gala such a great evening got together for a final time, and to review how we did in meeting our goals.
We started with a goal of 500 attending. There were 630 who came.
We started with a goal of raising $50,000 for public art at the library. We raised $82,000. In addition to those funds, one attendee, director of a foundation, recently delivered an additional $10,000 check.
We started with the aim of making this a night to remember and the efforts have resulted in a greater success than we could have imagined. Many thanks go out to all those who worked so hard to make this such a stunning achievement. I won't even try to name all those, for fear of leaving someone out. But, these are the folks, your neighbors, that are the backbone of this city. They work behind the scenes on all manner of projects, not for individual recognition, but for the greater good of their home. Hats off to all of you. And a huge thank you to everyone for their support!
