Positive Sightings in Lakewood

This morning along Clifton I saw a couple walking their dog. They were carrying a trash bag and a stick to pick up trash. They were walking their dog and picking up trash. What a nice thing to do for our city. Don't know who they were but they had a big gray dog.
I know we all see good things like this and I just thought it would be nice to share.

Someone held the door for me this morning at my son's school. That was pretty swell.

Interesting that this thread has just two posts, while the thread full of hateful rhetoric now has 14 pages.

I saw Ken Warren today for the first time. Saw him on Madison by the library. Recognized him from pics here at LO. Stopped the car and introduced myself.
He ran and called for police! Just kidding. Had a nice chat and it was nice to finally meet him.
Thanks Ken. Keep up the great work at the libraries and all your other projects.
That was positive.

We had our house painted this month by a Lakewood small business owner. He did such a nice job on our neighbor's house, we hired him. Anyway, one day last week the painter brought dinner to our neighbor because the neighbor's wife was out of town. I was lucky enough to score a few stuffed grape leaves too!

Last night the boys that always come over our house and eat (almost daily) purchased and cooked dinner for me and my family.
It was a very nice treat.

I sat on my porch for quite a while Friday. Many people passed the house. I spoke to them. They replied in a friendly way. It's a great place to live.

Lakewood Presbyterian Church looks like they are finishing up a new addition. It looks beautiful.

Lynn,
You will be happy to know that the addition was designed by Lakewood's own David Krebs. Dave is a highly-regarded architect who specializes in churches. My understanding is that some additional remodeling work is planned for the original church structure.

Positive things around Lakewood these days?
Well, one of the best of many that I've had the opportunity to observe today, is the initiation of this thread about positive things.
Nice work, Lynn and everyone who posted here today, for being the rainbow after the storm!
Well, better tune that old banjo back up..

I have been really happy to see a bunch of bikes in the rack at Garfield School.
After that facade was in its orthopedic halo for so long, seeing something really normal is a nice change.

I echo the sentiments shared here. It's vital in our world today to point out the positive. Thanks for starting it Lynn.
I hurt my back really bad recently. Two friends brought me fresh baked food. This was awesome. It was totally unexpected and made feel a warm sense of community that I moved here for in the first place.

I saw Rob Curtin out in front of the Hayes today as I do just about every day. He cares about these kids and their safety.

DL, and all;
I agree. I also have a suggestion for anyone who hasn't yet stopped at Garfield school.
I won't ruin the surprise but you have to drive around back.
To the school board I say, W E L L D O N E!!!!
