Why couldn't the Wood be a gated community?

Jim OB mentioned in one of these recent posts that he thought the city should be gated. I agree.

Why couldn't we have Lakewood be a gated community? Or could we?

Let me explain.

While gated would be interesting, it is impractical.

One thing I noticed at night as I am sure you do, there are many ways to leak out of Lakewood. With limited police, it might be cheaper to block off or "park" some of the ways out of Lakewood.

I know of one economic development plan that addresses some of these problems. The only problem is that it would make Lakewood the city of the Future. Safe, Clean, and incubator for small business and a leader in green living. So why even bother!

FWIW
