Lakewood Senior Kayla Kovach, 10 points away from history

Observers,
just got a call from a buddy of mine with very exciting news.
Lakewood's very own Senior Kayla Kovach is 11 points away from becoming the girls highest point scorer in LHS history.
A few games ago, Kayla scored her landmark 1,000 point as a Ranger and moved into 3rd place over Leslie Favre (990 points). The task of becoming the leading scorer seemed impossible, but nothing has stopped kalya from scoring 169 points in the last month and being just 10 points away.
Kayla went on a tear this week in the playoffs, scoring 22 and 33 points in their games and the Rangers are blowing teams out one by one. A three game winning streak and a ton of confidence for the Ranger girls will be key in getting a victory over a highly ranked Strongsville team this Thursday at Valley Forge High School.
Congratulations Kayla on 1,169 points. Lets cheer her on for 11 more because there is no one that deserves this record more than the hardworking, humble and determined Kayla.
I will be in attendance. My birthday happens to fall on the same day as the game, and there wouldn't be a better present than to see her become the leading scorer!
Go Rangers!!!
